Is it me???

Christmas is done, but the tree is still up.

I need a lie in, I am worn out.

I really, really want to announce to the world, that I am taking to my bed.

.........those Edwardian ladies had it made.

Men and their helpfuls little ways

Having been away for the weekend, I sent the man to the loft to discover the children's Advent Calendars.

Three of them were to be found............it was only much. much later as I entered the kitchen, that I realised my mistake........while he was up there he thought it would be as well to bring down the tree, and every other box that looked vaguely festive.

Maybe the Christmas decorations will go up a little earlier this year?

Going, going, gone

Life is much quieter without a burly black lab to greet you as you arrive home. Off he went without a backward glance, we truly wish him well.

Faerie appears to be the only cat to miss him, she has been calling for him. Personally I think we all need to be afraid, her desire to attack much larger creatures than herself does not bode well for the local dairy farmer.

On the bright side, at least Friesian cows cannot hide behind the skirting board.

Last night.

Tonight is Mercer's last night, he has been selected to go off to Guide Dog Training School. He is a big burly black labrador, I would like him to pine a tiny bit for me, but to pull himself together and be the best puppy in training, EVER.

If not, I have a spare blanket waiting for his return.

The rain it raineth down.

It has rained since Saturday. I do not like the rain, and I was out in it after a Diva lunchdate today.

I could not wear my hat as it did not match my bag or my boots. It did match my gloves, but I felt that was not enough.

I need to buy a red hat, soon. I had a red hat once, but an ex-flatmate left it in a London Cab...she was Canadian.

A postman delivers.....

....last week's random internet purchase, a cuckoo clock. I think it may be my age, as I get older more and more "stuff" is slipping through my goodtaste filter and arriving in my house.

I wonder how long it will be before anyone notices it??

....cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoooooooo

it's three o'clock.

Let there be fluff.....

Today I had a glimpse into my next year.

Leaving work I saw a fellow puppy walker, with two Alsatians, one was 11 weeks old. We collect Keller on the 7th December.

I am sure the cats will teach him cat manners at the earliest opportunity, myself, I shall be content with house training.

I do, however, fear for the Christmas Tree.

in the beginning....

In the beginning, there was a small black and white kitten, he sat on my lap, made himself comfortable, I knew he was mine.
To steal another's phrase, he was the Cat of Glory.

He managed to ignore the children for ten years, and best not to mention the dogs.

At the end, he was nineteen, he sat on my lap and I knew it was time.
